Evidence-based CBT for adults, children and teenagers experiencing excessive worry, low mood, panic, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, social anxiety or specific fears.
Emotional difficulties can gradually begin to affect everyday life. You may be spending hours worrying, feeling persistently low or unmotivated, repeatedly seeking reassurance, avoiding situations that feel frightening or struggling with unwanted intrusive thoughts.
Your child or teenager may be becoming increasingly anxious, withdrawn, irritable, overwhelmed or less interested in school, friendships and activities they previously enjoyed.
I provide structured, personalised online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you understand what is maintaining the problem and develop practical ways of moving forward.

Online CBT for Anxiety, Depression, OCD and Phobias

How can I help?
Worry & Anxiety
Your mind may constantly move from one worry to another, leaving you tense, exhausted and unable to switch off.
Depression
You may feel persistently low, disconnected, exhausted or unable to find motivation or enjoyment in everyday life.
Panic & Fear
Panic attacks, physical symptoms and fear of particular situations can gradually make your world feel smaller.
Intrusive Thoughts & OCD
Unwanted thoughts, checking, reassurance and rituals can consume increasing amounts of time and attention.
How CBT can help
My aim is to help people recover and lead a fulfilling life. Enabling you to gain – not only an understanding of your difficulties – but to develop a range of skills to help you overcome these and feel equipped, looking to the future, to overcome any barriers that may come your way – ultimately giving you the tools to become your own therapist.
CBT is a practical and collaborative therapy. Together, we will look at how your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours may be interacting and identify any patterns that could be keeping the difficulty going.
We will then work together to develop practical strategies that are relevant to you and your circumstances. This may involve trying out different approaches between sessions, gradually facing things you have been avoiding or finding new ways to respond to difficult thoughts and feelings.
Therapy will be tailored to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
What to expect
I offer a free, informal 10–15-minute introductory call. This gives you the opportunity to briefly explain what has been happening, ask any initial questions and decide whether you feel I may be the right therapist for you.
If you decide to go ahead, we will begin with an assessment. This gives us time to explore the difficulties you are experiencing, how they are affecting your life and what you would like to be different.
We will work together to develop a shared understanding of the problem and what may be keeping it going. From there, we will agree some goals for therapy and a plan for how we can work towards them.
Sessions take place online and usually last 50–60 minutes. CBT is an active and practical form of therapy, so we may agree things for you to try between appointments. We will regularly review how therapy is progressing and make changes where needed.
When working with a child or teenager, parents or carers may be involved where this would be helpful and appropriate.

TESTIMONIALS
What My Clients Are Saying
"I did online therapy with Torden CBT in June and found out I was experiencing OCD. I am quite an awkward person and had never had therapy before, however Sarah made me feel very at ease and helped me understand what was happening for me, why I was having intrusive thoughts and how to face my problems head on. I feel like I can now breath and I can’t explain how grateful for that I am."
(F, 59)
"I enjoyed the sessions as though they were often about serious topics, I felt like I could enjoy myself and not feel suffocated."
(M, 10)
"Thank you, I felt like you understood and knew me straight away. The things you’ve showed me are helping me everyday in many situations and with managing many feelings.
Being honest I wasn’t sure if therapy could help me or not and thought I may always have to live this way but the things I have learnt about how my mind works has shown me how CBT can make things easier."
(F, 15)
I just wanted to say thank you for everything you've done for me and helped me get through over the past few months. I appreciate it more than I can explain! You've helped me get through each day when it's been the last thing I want to do and I can't be more thankful for that.
(M, 32)
Sarah at Torden CBT has shown me where my anxiety was coming from and what was keeping it going, giving me the tools to face into it rather that be afraid of it. I now know when my body is reacting physically to worry why this is and why it is not a danger to me. I even went on my first plane journey in 10 years!
(F, 23)
Thank you for helping us to remember the rainbow (and daleks)
We never felt judged, and that was massive.
